Based on the survey of 800 affluent travelers across six countries: the UK, US, France, China, UAE, and Saudi Arabia by International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM), one-size-fits-all spa retreats seem obsolete as striking 84% of affluent individuals are expecting wellness services to be transformative and tailored to their unique health goals.
By redefining vacations as purpose, health, and connection, these wellness travelers are influencing hospitality strategies worldwide making wellness a strategic priority. This requires hotels and resorts to adapt to the traveler needs by tailoring health consultations and bespoke treatments addressing individual goals and delivering precision wellness by using AI and data-driven tools and differentiating the wellness offer to gain completive advantage at the same time.
As per the survey, the top most demanding wellness facilities include; Spa resorts/therapies (e.g., thalassotherapy, ayurvedic) (62%), Physical treatments (e.g., massage, acupuncture) (54%), Nature immersions (e.g., hiking, wild swimming) (52%), Activities/pursuits (e.g., golf, hiking) (51%), Exercise classes/workouts (49%) and Yoga retreats (40%).
